Stink-Eye is Free

Shanon was headed up to Scarborough Fair in Waxahache to help with the Last Chance Forever raptor show and kindly met me in Kyle with Stink-Eye. Special treat for me... Stink-Eye is probably a female and is full grown.
Stink-Eye required no stitches but was bruised and possibly water logged. Shanon confirmed that bringing her in was the right thing to do. (She mentioned another raptor they had to turn up-side-down to drain the water from it.) Shanon said owl skin is fine and thin and you can see through it on places like the wings if the down is soaked. I was certain I was looking at meat when I found Stink-eye.
Stink-Eye passed her "live kill" exams. The LastChanceForever.org team deemed her ready for release. Shanon was headed up I35 to Scarborough anyway, so she met me in Kyle and we drove out to the release site. We took some pictures, and then, special treat for me, Shanon had me release her.
Stink-Eye seems to fly fine, and went immediately into a mesquite sending all the other birds in the field into a defensive uproar. From there, she swooped across the field out of site, but obviously competently flying.
Good luck, Stink-eye, and stay out of the water troughs.
