Yahoo upgrades killing pidgin

It looks like Yahoo may be upgrading a subset of their servers and breaking older versions of yahoo IM and pidgin along with it. Several, but not all, pidgin on linux clients at work are unable to connect. We were able to get around this by specifying the ip address of a particular server instead of relying on DNS and geting one from the mix. I suspect that is a temporary fix and will also break as the upgrades progress. Mostly speculation on my part.
